Me at the pond Posted by Hello

Well, I decided that I needed to take a step back (from everything) & just kinda went back to the least common denominator of my life...I felt helpless for a while, then angry...Hopefully this is leading up to me being motivated once again, and reconstructing my life...

The week started off very hot (109 temperature on Monday, 107 Tuesday), but now we've got the Gulf of Mexico weather in place again, so not as hot, but more humid.

Gramma is so funny. Yesterday she told me about a dream she had the night before. She said that she dreamt that there was a pizza in her bed. She thought it had a thick crust. I asked her if she was eating it, she said no.

I went to Laredo yesterday, did some shopping & picked up a prescription for Gramma.

Today, I have not done much, I got some chicken breasts marinating (I will grill them this evening). I took out the garbage & found ants around the trash can, so I sprayed them.
Wednesday evening I saw a scorpion outside the house on the cement. Then, I saw & killed what I believe to be some sort of pseudoscorpion (referred to here as a windscorpion) in the bathroom. This one I killed had HUGE pincers & no tail...it was pretty soft bodied, so I'm pretty certain it was not a true scorpion, like the Centruroides family of scorpions that we have down here.

What else has been going on...

Down at the pond on Tuesday evening, there was a pair of Red-billed Pigeons, I had not positively seen one this year. It is a pretty shy bird, so many times the only look you get at them is just as a dark pigeon/dove flying at treetop level.

Well, I will do better at updating my Blog...I am better now, I think I just needed a few days to get my stuff together...

Be good everybody

I have been quite lax in updating my Blog over the past couple days.
I guess I have been trying to figure out what to do with my life. I have many ways I could go right now, some of them good, some of them bad.

I don't want to become a recluse, I know that.

Anyway, it is just plain hot down here (supposed to reach 103 as a high temperature today).

Yesterday, I made a peach cobbler & some baked beans. Gramma made some potato salad & then I grilled out burgers for dinner.
My neighbor Barry came over for dinner. Everything was good. I'm going to do hot dogs tonight (so I can get the leftover beans & potato salad eaten up).

I am just going to finish out my travelogue...get that over with

Days 7-9 Tuesday-Thursday, May 18-20

Woke up about 6:00 in Hutchinson Kansas. I was in no big hurry to get going. I was going to meet up with Janelle in Pittsburg & hang out for a while. We really didn't do too much. I needed to get to bed early so I could get an early start the next morning.

Wednesday morning I was on the road by 4:00. I don't remember anything too remarkable about my trip (that's a good thing, right?) I know I stopped in Durant Oklahoma at Wal-Mart & picked up some potatos (for home).

I got into San Antonio about 3:30 that afternoon. Called Heather to see what time she wanted to go out for dinner. We decided on 5:00. We had another great dinner at Old San Francisco.

The last time Heather & I went out, she had told me that at one time she had actually considered getting a job at Old San Francisco so she could swing on their swing. She also told me that she just likes to swing & that she just took her daughter to swing for the first time recently.
Anyway, I thought I'd call the restaurant to see if they ever let just anyone take a turn on their swing. The manager said no, employees only.

Well, after another great dinner & evening with Heather, I went to bed. I did not set an alarm or anything.

So Thursday morning, I woke up about 6:30, had some breakfast & got on the road about 8:30 & headed for home. I got home about 1:00. It was an almost 3500 mile trip. I need to get a laptop so I can blog while travelling (may be more entertaining that way).

All for now

Be good everybody
