  Hello...

Well, it's been pretty uneventful down here. Big events were that I took Gramma to the Doctor on Friday (6 month check-up). She is fine. She has put on 2 pounds since her last visit (must be my cooking). I take her to the podiatrist tomorrow.

I have not called my doctor back (for the results of my biopsy). I promise I will call tomorrow.

It's still hot & humid down here. Friday, because we had to leave for Laredo about 7:30 AM, I did not run in the morning (I did 2 sets of my weight routine instead). I did run about 7:30 that evening . It had rained from about 6-6:30, so it was very humid, the air was just so heavy. It was a good run though, because the sun was setting, it was setting through the rain that had passed by an hour earlier...You could not see the sun while it was obscured by clouds, then when it came out underneath them...It was sooo red, and it was very crisp & clear looking (because of the rain that it was shining through). I know that I'm showing my intelligence (or lack of) by talking about me looking at the sun...

I'm excited about NFL football (I know there's already been a couple games played). My Chargers are in Houston today, so I will be able to watch them play.

I got a call from my friend Shawn in KC. He & his girlfriend Leann are going to be getting married at the end of October. So I am planning a trip up there for that.

I did not work this week (bad).

I had some good birds around. On Thursday, there was a "family" of 3 Baltimore Orioles that were around. The rains last week made the honeysuckles burst into bloom, the orioles were going around and breaking the flowers off so they could get at the nectar. The same day, there was a Buff-bellied Hummingbird that was hanging around too. I have never seen either of these 2 species around this house before. The hummingbird is a resident farther down the Rio Grande Valley from here, I've seen them maybe 100 miles away at Santa Ana NWR, so I thought that was good. It is a much larger hummingbird than the Ruby-throated & Black Chinned Hummingbirds that we normally have around.

I started mowing the yard on Tuesday. We had a Cold front that moved though that morning, so I got out there a little after noon. By about 1:15, the clouds had moved on & it was getting hot. I quit about 1:45 & then finished up the last 20 minutes on Wednesday. While I was mowing on Tuesday, I scared a Coachwhip out of some brush & it scurried to a Blue Agave & climbed up into it. It was a very long snake...Probably 3 feet long. Maybe the longest snake that I've seen down here, but more than anything, it was fast.

Well, that's all I'm going to blab about for now. I've got some clothes in the washing machine & I need to throw them into the dryer...

Be good everybody
